Summary of Anthony Head's storyline: The episode opens with a girl being raped. She is found afterwards by her stepfather who demands to know who did it. Duncan, his lover Tessa and their friend Richie arrive at the fog enshrouded home of Tessa's childhood friend, Allan Rothwood. They are introduced to Allan's son Mark, who is the man seen at the beginning raping the girl. Duncan senses the presence of another Immortal and goes outside to investigate. He encounters Colonel Everett Bellian who informs Duncan that Mark raped his stepdaughter Lori and he is there for vengeance. Duncan urges him to go through the police but Everett refuses. Duncan informs Mark of the accusation but Mark maintains his innocence. Duncan informs Everett that he will not turn Mark over to be killed, regardless of his guilt or innocence. Everett's mercenary soldiers arrive. Duncan informs the others of the danger. Allan naturally assumes his son's innocence. The group attempts escape but the mercenaries shoot at them and they are forced back into the house. They prepare for battle by booby-trapping the house. Allan tells Duncan that he feels he should tell them to leave but knows he and his son could not survive without Duncan's help. The attack on the house finally occurs and the mercenaries are fought off with weapons such as a bear trap, boiling oil and a torch gun. Everett calls off the attack. Lori arrives on the scene and asks Everett to stop, telling him that this is all about him and not her. When she threatens to go to the police, Everett has her locked up in a shed. Mark slips up and admits his guilt to Richie. When Richie confronts him with this later, Allan begins to realize his son may be guilty after all. After Allan demands the truth, Mark finally admits what he did and asks his father to get him out of it. Allan wonders how he could not see what his son has become. He decides that he and Mark should attempt to leave, hoping that the others will be safe staying behind. Tessa discovers them on the way out and alerts Duncan. Allan and Mark make their way across the grounds, through the heavy fog. They are finally stopped by a mercenary who shoots at them with a machine gun. Allan pushes Mark out of the way and is shot multiple times in the chest. Duncan arrives and takes out the mercenary. He takes Allan and Mark back to the house. Allan is seriously wounded and they fear he will die without help. Mark knocks out Richie and takes the gun Duncan had taken from the mercenary. He leaves to try and get help for his father. Richie comes to and follows. He discovers Lori and lets her out. She takes off. Duncan and Everett finally do battle with swords. Duncan has the upper hand but hesitates to deliver the death blow. Mark arrives on the scene and demands that Duncan do it. Lori also arrives and Mark holds a gun on her demanding that Duncan kill Everett. Lori pulls out a gun and shoots Mark, killing him. Allan has miraculously survived and is taken to the hospital. Lori and Everett have disappeared. Duncan, Tessa and Richie depart, saddened by the deaths. |
