Comic Strip Presents...SlagsTelevision guest star appearances (UK) Series summary: Self-contained comedy films.
Role: Ricki
Summary of Anthony Head's storyline: In this satiric version of a post-apocalyptic future, Passion and Little Sister are the leaders of a gang known as the Slags, recently released from prison. They return to their territory only to discover that it has been taken over by the Hawaiians, a rival gang. They are disgusted that the dark and violent place they left behind is now filled with leis and tropical music. Passion and Little Sister set out to reunite the remaining Slags: Ace, Boy Madness, Squealer and Marlon (the story's narrator). Squealer is caught and brought to see the leader of the Hawaiians, Ricki. Squealer informs him that the Slags are back. At Passion's insistence, the Slags go to challenge the Hawaiians to a rumble. Ricki refuses a rumble at first. But he still taunts the Slags by deliberating kissing his girl, Pearl, in front of her former boyfriend, Ace. The Slags respond by blowing up a woman passing by. Squealer laughs at this and Ricki hits him, which impresses Little Sister. She hits Squealer as well, which impresses Ricki. In true Westside Story fashion (well, sort of), Ricki and Little Sister lock eyes and fall in immediate love. Passion tells Ricki that the Hawaiians can pick the location of the rumble. Ricki leaves the other Hawaiians to make that decision while he sneaks off to meet Little Sister. They declare their love and kiss. They realize that they cannot stop the rumble but agree to not hurt each other. As Little Sister leaves, she realizes that Squealer has followed her. He promises not to tell Passion, but of course does so at the first opportunity. Passion is furious and banishes Little Sister, swearing further vengeance on Ricki. When Ricki returns to the Hawaiians' headquarters, the others tell him where they decided to hold the rumble. The news causes Ricki to faint. Later, he and the rest of the Hawaiians set off to start the rumble, with all the onlookers happy and cheerful. When the Slags pass through, the same onlookers are frightened and screaming. The location of the rumble is revealed to be a swimming pool. The battle commences as scheduled, with Ricki fighting off the Slags with weapons such as pineapple grenades. Eventually, Passion confronts Ricki on a platform above the pool. They fight (her with a whip, him with a banana) until Little Sister arrives to try and save Ricki. She is knocked into the pool but cannot swim. All differences are put aside as everyone tries to save Littler Sister. It's headed toward a happy ending when Marlon, on his way to assist, bumps into a piece of stereo equipment, knocking it into the water, electrocuting everyone. Marlon sells his story to a publisher, making enough money to leave the colony behind. |
